Various Types of Stone
Granite
This surface can be used inside and outdoors! UV Safe, multiple patterns and colors are available. This natural stone requires sealing. A variety of finishes are available. Consider Granite for your next project!
Marble
This timeless choice is used throughout the home, Excellent for furniture and accent pieces! Sealing is required. Polished and Honed finishes are available.
Onyx
Looking for something different? Onyx could be what you are looking for. The selection is better for low traffic areas. Some varieties of this stone can be backlit for a more profound effect!
Soapstone
Rich color tones with veining are characteristic of this stone. Blues, greens, greys and black are the prevailing color palette for this selection.
Travertine/Limestone
Both materials are soft and recommended for guest baths or low traffic areas. This selection has warmer color palettes and tend to have minimal patterns.

General Information/Applications/Care & Maintenance
Stone is a product of nature and variances in color, pattern, veining and shading are considered normal. Photos and samples will only be a representation of the slab. The overall performance will not be affected by the natural occurring variances.
Some varieties of stone will show water marks, such as marble or stone with a lighter color. This is considered normal and will dissipate. Travertine and Limestone will show these as well. Any lighter stone with a veining pattern will have a higher rate of absorption due to how it was formed in the earth's crust. On the other hand, darker colors tend to be denser and have a lower rate of absorption.

Care and maintenance vary depending on the variety of stone your client has selected. With most varieties, semiannual to annual sealing is necessary. Your client can do the water drop test to verify if the countertop requires sealing. Your client can put a few drops of water on the top. Watch the droplets, if they stay beaded up like water on glass, sealing is not required. If the droplets start to flatten out and absorb into the stone, sealing is required. Use only products specifically for stone sealing.
For daily care, please use a PH balanced cleanser (mild) for your stone countertops. Dry after cleaning to prevent streaking, especially on darker colors. Always use trivets before placing hot pots/pans on the countertop. Do not stand or sit on countertops. Please note that Stone does not have a warranty on the material because it is a product of nature. Here at Conceptual Designs, we offer a one year workmanship warranty on Natural Stone projects.
